Granville Island is one of my favourite spots to visit on a sunny morning! I love walking through the Public Market and enjoying the gorgeous surrounding views. I live within walking distance so you can find me here exploring almost every week! Today’s post is about a few of my favourite things to see and do while visiting Granville Island.
Granville Island Public Market
When I’m wandering around the Public Market on the weekend, there are a few favourite places that I have to stop at. Terra Breads is a fantastic bakery located inside the market and I’ll usually get one of their delicious blueberry focaccia breads. I also love to grab a bouquet of fresh flowers from one of the flower stands inside the Public Market. And of course….ice cream! There are a few great ice cream and gelato shops in and around the market, you can’t really go wrong. For an extra treat, Roger’s Chocolates serves delicious ice cream as well as their famous chocolate.
The best location for a wicked Instagram photo is at the back of the Public Market, after the parking lot and near the benches that are overlooking the water. From there, you’re able to get a clear view of both the Granville Bridge on one side and the Burrard Bridge on the other! This view is stunning. I like to sit and relax on these benches with an ice cream cone in hand 🙂
The seawall is a long waterfront path that goes around the perimeter of some areas in Vancouver, through Stanley Park. There are a few access points at the entrance of Granville Island, one direction goes towards Kits Beach and the other goes towards Olympic Village and downtown Vancouver. I highly recommend going for a walk along the seawall while you’re there!!
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this quick run down of a few of my favourite places on Granville Island. See you in my next post! Candice
