Winter Hiking – Quarry Rock

Happy 2017! Nothing beats a New Year’s day hike, especially to one of the most beautiful views of Deep Cove! Quarry Rock is an easy hour and a half (round trip) trail located in Deep Cove, North Vancouver, BC.

A very popular and gorgeous hike during the summer months, I thought it was time to make my first attempt hiking Quarry Rock during the winter season. It did not disappoint and I discovered that it’s a breathtaking spot year round! I was worried about the trail conditions and whether or not they’d be snow covered, given how much snow we’ve been getting in Vancouver lately. Surprisingly, the trails were clear and free of ice and snow. The only spot that was on the dangerous side was at the very top of the summit where it was icy and slippery. You’re still able to see the gorgeous view, but just a little lower down on the summit.

If you’re thinking about checking out this hike in the winter, you will not be disappointed!
